Short ‘n’ sweet. A tale of two dresses

…both half-price from the Monsoon sale.

(I love how this picture makes my living room look positively cavernous. If only).

Time was I used to be confined to jeans for most of the winter months but have gradually built up a modest collection of comfy, layerable jersey work-frocks over the past couple of years. This one came with a belt but, since it’s of the flimsy tie variety and the dress is narrowly cut, I prefer to go loose and body-skimming. I’m loving the vintage vibe of the print and, despite my legendary hate of flouncy hems, quite like this one.

Shoes, which also have a slightly 1940s vibe, from Clarks back in the summer. Tights from Evans. Laura Ashley bracelet and Accessorize ring.

More vintage print goodness in a most unusual colour convo. (For some reason my tights look more red than orange in this photograph, but are in fact orange). It’s an unusual style too; I especially like the pleated detail in the front.

Shoes are Clarks, via eBay. (I wore out a pair and managed to find another in the same metallic pewter patent finish). Tights from Dorothy Perkins if memory serves me right. Bangles from Accessorize and TK Maxx, and earrings from a lovely shop in Falmouth I can’t remember the name of.
